Jeff Estep is an accomplished threat assessment and physical security practitioner with over 20 years of experience in law enforcement, safety, and physical security for local state and federal organizations. Jeff has worked with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a Physical Security Specialist, and as a Law Enforcement Specialist for more than 10 years. Jeff received advanced specialized training from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) that included, but was not limited to: Law Enforcement Instructor Training Program Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Weapons Tactics Instructor, National Weapons Detection Training Program Instructor, Active Shooter Response and Awareness, Counterterrorism, and the DHS Physical Security Training Program. In the past ten years Jeff has provided Active Shooter Training for thousands of people and conducted hundreds of Physical Security Assessments. Jeff is the 2016 recipient of the DHS Excellence in Physical Security Award, and the 2017 recipient of the DHS Unsung Hero Award.
Jeff is also a veteran of the US Army and West Virginia National Guard and served 19 years in the United States Special Forces as a communications non-commissioned officer. Jeff has had the privilege of travelling throughout the world in support of the Global War on Terror, and is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Jeff holds an M.A. degree in Security and Global Studies/Homeland Security from American Military University, and a B.S. in Hazardous Materials/Occupational Health and Safety from Mountain State University. Jeff is a member of the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) and holds a Physical Security Professional (PSP®) certification. The PSP credential further demonstrates a knowledge in physical security assessments, application design, integration of physical security systems, and implementation of security measures.
